The closing of a "friendship"

The closing of a "friendship"

A Poem by Kiari Sabon

My loneliness is abundant

it is a dagger which has cut me deep

my loneliness is unexpected for I am surrounded by a sea of faces and names

all bounds were torn apart by a beast I called friend

she wore a mask of lies and bore down at me with devilish eyes

her words cut as deep as her teeth

which were embedded deep

but I didn’t even notice in the fog lies

now I run from you and push you away

you dig in trying to pull me back with a string of lies

you told me I was nothing

that everyone hated me

no

it is you who everyone hated

only now that I am leaving do you realize I was the only one who was really there for you

now I leave you to your life

have fun as you watch it crumble down

now I must gather the remains of my own life and fix it

and though guilt’s rules my hearts for abandoning the cold of yours

you do not fit in the remains of my life
