Angelic PrinceA Poem by KiaPoem for RickyOh, Angelic Prince Whose life was too short Whose story be left untold Whose voice could command any heart Whilst anything you touched turned to gold Ah, to your tranquil, eternal voice That no living soul could blame And your eyes that humbled the morning sky And put every sea to shame Oh, Angelic Prince Whose voice was the air Whose song was love’s melody You were more beautiful than any bird Even the dove can’t deny his envy You were too beautiful for the roses you touched And the rain that bathed your skin Yes, too admirable for the stars at night And the grass you placed your feet in Oh, Angelic Prince What brought your dark clouds? What caused your moon to unlit? Was it because of the Earth’s dark nights? Or the silent and fearsome snake pit? Could it be because you had too much beauty Yet you could not see your own face? Was this the same reason you hid in thorny weeds And lived your life in disgrace? Oh, Angelic Prince King of my heart Master of my romantic eye I alone knew of your pure, unique gold Much more than the sun in the sky The people of this world watched in scorn Only denying what was true For each and everything upon this planet Could never compare to you And so, Angelic Prince You went up Up and away from this land Up to a place filled with majesty And where the angels smile, ever grand Up to where beauty is forever pure And the doves spread their ivory wings Up to where the flowers never close And each lovely angel sings Yes, My Dear Prince You went up To a place eternally divine To a place where nothing ever grows old And there lies not a single whine Up to a place so perfect and great Too wondrous for mortal eyes to see And on to a place where all around you Will equal with your beauty
