ScarletA Poem by KiaThe search for "Scarlet".A handsome young lad A common nomad Treaded solo Through barren streets In hopes that he might Come upon that dreary night His dearly and beloved Scarlet Though they knew not his name Or the night that he came It was prominent That he would only seek The one he lusted for For nothing could mean more Than his precious and valued Scarlet But they swore to show their wrath As they stayed along the path Of the steadfast And fearless young fellow Who endured the coldest nights Avoiding the morning light In search for his dearest Scarlet “Thy journey is vile!” Cried they to the juvenile But he hastened Far into the night Until he left no sound On their almost holy ground As his passion lead his search for Scarlet It was o’er yonder The young man did wonder And there stood A maiden, naïve and fair He spoke to her mild And the lady was beguiled She did not know he sought for Scarlet To her neck so white The young lad took a bite Costing the maiden her soul And from her veins did leak Long streams, a morbid streak Of his precious and ever loved
