A Thing I Cannot Say

A thing that I cannot say.

The words that will not exit out of my pale lips.

The words that get choked in my throat every time you walk away.

The words that are on my mind when you smile.

How much longer can I put them off?

As you walk together with another it makes me sad;

Drives me mad.

But I have to put aside these selfish feelings;

I have to forget them.

For your sake,

And for mine.

I will not suffer

Because of a mere three word phrase.

"I love you."
