Irony (R.I.P.)

Irony (R.I.P.)

A Poem by Meridian

As I rest here in pieces, all I want to do
Is to envelop myself with thoughts of you.
I made every mistake, and now, from beneath
The earth, I can find no kind of relief.
For my one true love I would give anything.
I found you, and the joy you (still) bring.
My search was over, and the price was dear.
I paid with my life, and cannot hold you near.

As I rest here in pieces, I regret every lie.
I regret sneaking and keeping my feelings inside.
I wish I had had enough courage to be
As strong as the desire that raged in me.
I thought I had everything I wanted with him,
But you came and sparked a passion within.
I could have confessed, but misled in silence.
The result of my decision? And end by violence.

As I rest here in pieces, I remember the day
That all of my happiness turned into pain.
I never expected an end like the one I had.
The idea of me cheating must have driven him mad.
I felt such remorse in the darkest depths of my soul.
I felt his conviction as he severed limbs from the whole.
As I rest here in pieces, I continue to die.
I have lost myself eternally, and you're the reason why.
