"

I know that there is a lack of respect between the ranks, and that there is some amount of trust between the aides and Travesty. I think the chapter worked out well.

"

Raising an arm, the King signalled for his men to fall back. Nearly every eye was on the new arrival to the ballroom. “Your kind isn’t supposed to exist anymore!” The King snarled as he fell back into his throne. Travesty smiled at him as he took a step forward, “I’m an opportunist, when there is a market, there is a price...”

The King merely looked at him for a moment, “Can you not hear yourself? Here you come, telling me of a threat that is only known to four men... and yet you speak so easily of a price to rid us of it? You’re insane man!” Travesty took yet another step forward and leaned closer to the King, “Trust me, the village I passed to get here, they don’t think their homes randomly burst into flame... they saw what I saw!”

Anthon pulled at his collar and signalled to the guards by his side, “Please escort this man to the war room, I will be down to you shortly.” Turning to the other side he called a short red robed man to his side, “We’re calling a council meeting, I want you to make sure that my daughter remains here. She is not to get involved in this!” The robed man nodded his head and started down the steps to the royal’s floor. Travesty turned his head to regard the approaching guard before he turned back to the King with a smile, “By the way, I think you knew my father...”

“How could you forget him...?” The King replied absentmindedly as he got to his feet and made his way to the herald. Moments later, the booming voice of the Herald echoed across the hall, telling people of the King’s tiredness... applause then broke out for the King as he made his exit. His normal smile was no longer on his face. Gathering his weapons, Travesty looked to the men beside him, “Do either of you know what the Silver means?” Both men looked at each other in confusion before one of them answered, “By the way you addressed the King, I would regard you as a Royal from a distant city?” The guard finished with a respectful nod, unsure of what title to give the man. “Ha, nothing so grand my friend, you can just call me Julian. My rank, well let us just say that it is similar to that of a Dark Blue...” The guard thought for a moment before he answered, “Like a Captain?”

Travesty smiled, “Exactly like a captain, just a little higher... That is why I need one of you to do a favour for me.” The men all walked down the different podiums and finally made it to the large doors. The rope was pulled and the men on the other side started to open the huge wooden beasts, revealing the beautifully crafted hallway behind. Travesty came to a halt outside the doors and readjusted the silver blades that were hanging at his waist. “I need one of you to go to all the guilds and get them to write up a roster of all their best workers. To be more precise, I will require in-depth information from the Engineers Guild and the Mages Guild.” Just as the man was about to run off, Travesty had another thought, “Wait! Actually before you go, there is another thing, sorry. I need a report from your Jailor, telling me the names of all the top ranked inmates.”

“What do you mean by ranked?” The guard asked in confusion as he started to scribble something else on a small scrap of parchment. Travesty thought for a moment before he answered, “I need you to get me the names of the most dangerous people that are locked up.” The guard hesitated for a moment at those words, he looked at his partner before he answered, “I don’t think we’re authorised to disclose that information, Sir.”

Travesty pulled his hat off his head and reached behind his head, he grimaced as he pulled his hair free from its knot. In his hand was a small black piece of cloth that he used to tie it, and entangled within it was a small signet ring. “This ring should be able to convince the Jailor that I am who I say I am. Tell him that Travesty wants the list.” Catching the ring in his hand, the guard looked to his partner who merely nodded back to him. After the confirmation, the guard started off in the opposite direction towards the City exit of the palace. The remaining guard paused for a moment before he regarded the newcomer. “Is there really going to be another attack?” Travesty looked at the man and winked. “I wouldn’t be here if there wasn’t going to be another one.”

“My name is Corel, if you’re going to be here for long, you’ll probably be better off learning it. That other guy is Coban. We’re brothers, both of which act as the King’s aides.”

Travesty extended his hand and smiled. Corel shook it before he turned and led the Sky Pirate towards the War room. Walking down the hallway brought back memories to the Captain. He had visited the palace often as a child. That life seemed like centuries ago... and now he didn’t have the time to enjoy it. A part of him hoped that he would be allowed to come back after this ordeal. Snapping out of his momentary reverie, Julian looked around him to see Corel standing beside a wooden door. “Is this the place?” Julian asked as he extended his hand towards the door handle. “It is, but before you go in, I have to ask, why do you need those lists of people?” Julian opened the door in front of him and stepped through, and for a moment, Corel thought that he wouldn’t get an answer from the man. But it was just as the door was closing behind him that he got his response, “Every ship needs a crew...”

Only twenty-three minutes??? My God, I wish I could write things that fast!

Loved the chapter! The man in silver is so intriguing, and I for sure want to know what the crew is going to be like. I find it really interesting that he wants the 'bad' people from jail, I personally would be scared haha.

Lovely job!

LOL 23 minutes? Well, I can tell. You have spelling mistakes.

"Anthon pulled at his collar and signalled to the guards by his side, "Please escort this man to the war room, I will be down to you shortly.": It's Signaled.

"The guard hesitated for a moment at those words, he looked at his partner before he answered, "I don't think we're authorised to disclose that information, Sir." : it's authorized.

You know, I'm jut being harsh and picky because you were, haha. Anyways, I think you choose good words that help your story flow. So yeah, nicely done.

But yeah, I liked this chapter. Silver seems like a cool character.
