Life and Death

Life and Death

A Chapter by Khaled Hishma

*Life taught me not to be attached to others so deeply for fear of losing them, for life cannot be entrusted or relied on.

*My memory would not let go of that special person who departed her life unexpectedly, but left immense imprint in my life.

*How often we think that our lives would be different with the presence of a special person, and then life surprises us with its deceit.

*Think so many times before you let people into your life, for if they mean so much to you they might be hurt, because life has no certitude.

*I know which way my life is going, so I keep away those who mean the world to me in order to protect them.

*I do not let people in my life easily, and when I do and make exceptions, they become part of my being that I will cherish for eternity.

*Expect the unexpected in life, do not believe it, do not trust it, and do not think you will live it the way you want it.

*When fata morgana is the identity of our life, mirage is the reflection of our fate.

*No matter how much we try to isolate ourselves from our surroundings, and to keep our distance from people around us, someone will appear to bring us back to reality, and make us share the world despite our self-objection.

*As much as we look for happiness in our life, still we remain afraid of it because our experiences have taught us there are no guarantees in life.

*Destiny is molded with contradictions, that paint and fashion our lives, and we only can hope that destiny will give hope to our life.

*When sadness is a trademark of your life, you know happiness will not be attainable.

*The greatest agony is when you know your life have ended, and no hope in reviving it, still you have to live its ending by watching and waiting for its finality.

*How much life misfortunes make us yearn for death, in order to be fortunate, but we still could be unfortunate even to earn death.

*It is true that we are born, but it is we who make make something of ourselves.

*When your life is collapsing to the abyss and everything is going for you from bad to worse, the hardest decision to make is whether to stay living in this life or to leave it.

*How beautiful it is when you wake up every morning, realizing there are people who you care for their freindship and existence in your life.

*If you lack these 3 all together: A companionship to cheer up your lonliness, a job to endeavor in, and money to secure with it your daily living, then you are really the most miserable and most unhappy person.

*The choices we make stay with us forever, whether these choices are right or wrong. So, even when we make wrong choices, we should not regret it, because at the end we will make the right choices.

*Life is a state of uncontrollable events that take us to destinations we do not comprehend.

*The reality of death is that, it hits you suddenly even when you are certain it is coming, and it surprises you even when you are expecting it.

*Death leaves an empty place in your life that cannot be filled no matter what you do.

*As life is, death is also a learning experience.

*Death enriches our life with its presence, and enlightens our mind with its coming.

*Do not think, not for once, that life will treat you always well. It will not be life, and you will be a fool.

*We never know where our paths will lead us, either way, we must adjust our routes and courses, to fit our new path, in order to continue our life.

*The art of living is to live your life the way you think it is livable, and the way you believe it could be possible.

*Do not let life defeat you, and do not defeat life. Learn how to co-habitat and compromise with life.

*As in painting, you have to draw your life with the real and the imaginative, colored it with black or white, or brush it with a rainbow of colors. You are the painter, so you decide how to shape it and how to mold it. And you who make it beautiful or ugly.

*Your destiny is shaped by rainbows of happiness and storms of sadness. Both are necessary to form your life, and neither can be without the other.
