Khaled Hishma Poetry: Killing in the Name of Honor

Khaled Hishma Poetry: Killing in the Name of Honor

A Poem by Khaled Hishma

I am…

The victim of your ignorance

The sufferer of your disrespect

The bearer of your crimes

The inflicted with your sins

The scared by your despotism

The imprisoned in your hostility.

I am the Female…

Without me…

Existence cannot exist

Life would not persist

Dignity does not manifest

Humanity could not depict.

I and my pair…

Were created…

From the same single sole

At the same exact moment

With the same given rights

By the same Gracious Maker

On the same parity grounds.

My Murderer…

Is Always…

A man who is not a man

A male who is not a human

Masculinity loaded with stupidity

Virility plunged with ignominy

 A mentality polluted with partiality

A religiosity distorted with deficiency.

There is no…

Honor in your act

For you know no honor

No logic in your doing

For you have only enormity

No virtue in your behavior

For you are molded with evil.

It is …

The culture that brought you

Is born out of heresy

The tradition that formed you

Is promoted by savagery

The custom that shaped you

Is made through loquacity

The idea that possess you

Is fashioned from idolatry.

I Am…

The Mother who…

Carried you in her womb

The Sister who…

Walked beside you at home

The Daughter who…

Held you hand for love

The Wife who…

Provided your life with tranquility.

I am the Woman…

My passion is unmatched

My affection is incomparable

My tenderness is exceptional

My allure is undeniable

My charm is unforgettable

My delight is irresistible

My elegance is graceful

My brightness is unparallel

My mind is sophisticated

My intellect is electrifying.

I Am…

The splendor of living

The infatuation of realm

The dazzle of being

The eminence of prestige

The fluency of serenity

The charisma of glamour.

I Will…

Outlive your indignation

Survive your discontent

Ridicule your malice

Scorn your absurdity

Surpass your idiocy.

For I Am The Female…

The preamble which start life

The script which inscribe inception

The substance which create pride

The warmth that deluge ardent love

The glory that envelop regret

The devotion that acquire nobility

The proof to dispel falsity

The narration to diffuse falsification

The authenticity to expose deception.

I Am The Female…

I cannot be concealed

I will not be repealed

I shall not be veiled

I am vibrant and breathe.

What a beautiful understanding of a women's plight in a man's world. Indeed justice is victorious even if it takes years to arrive. Full of strength and respect for women. A wonderful poignant tribute.
