One Second After Death

One Second After Death

A Poem by Kathryn Star, Shine!
"

Where will you go? Have you thought about that one thought?

"

Sounds disappear

Your body lay rested upon its grave,

An angel appears,

Are you going to Heaven or Hell?

Did you accept Jesus Christ,

Or a scoffer who said they could earn their way,

To Heaven's destiny...

Your own decision,

Clearly made all your life,

Don't be fooled,

It's crowded with religiousity,

One Word, One GOD,

That is where you can fall...

If you take the worlds view,

There is nothing beyond the grave...

Just one second

And you are dead,

Where are you going?

My religious point of view, and haters just don't even review. You already have your mind made up, and I don't want to read your rants.

Ahhh, the eternal question. What awaits up after our body lets loose it's last breath? Is there only darkness? Does our spirit set free? Is God waiting for us - taking our hand and leading us home? Ask 10 people and you will get 10 versions of true belief.
You do a good job asking your question, and hinting at a possiblity. It was a nice read.

I could tell that when you wrote this your tank was somewhat full. There's an edge to the piece and to the supporting writing. I understand that edge. I have lived it more than once. :)

On the piece, I like the vertical and centered visual. For me it plays, it works. You may consider line spacing as a way to interject a pause for expression. In reading the poem I can hear certain places where pauses might work.

For me, it is not so much the styling of the poem as the content and the statement made. Oh, and the story crafting in it.

Overall, I liked it.

Cheers!
