A Friend of Mine

Written for my best friend

Hello I say,

Then goodbye,

Not to be rude but we've said everything we could,

Our conversations over,

Caught up to our actions,

Yet in a glimmer,

Your car will drive away,

You asked me if you should stay with your husband,

What can I do if you don't love the man you are with?

If you think you can work things out,

Than run to him with arms open,

Give him your love and emotion,

Don't let empty sight distract your thoughts,

Just open your mind,

So when you need to talk to me another day,

My door will be wide open,

I'll share with you and always love you,

For who you are inside,

But if I see you outside my door,

With bags in hand and crying,

My heart will go out to you once more,

Twice as ever before,

I know you may not have been through the best of times,

However, I'll be your salvation.

Yep, this is definitely about friendship. Its exhausting to say again what your friend already knows, but you remain there with arms open ready to give support once a again. I think this is a wonderful poem. Its pretty wise.

That is what friends do. They comfort, love and provide a safe haven in the time of a storm. But you wisely see that they will do as their heart tells them and all you can do is say "I will be here when you need me." A wonderful tribute to your friend and I hope they know what a good friend they have in you.
