Magic of a Smile

Magic of a Smile

A Poem by Kathryn Star, Shine!
"

Those glimpses of another person you see what is inside of them when they smile.

"

A baby smiles

Shines with delight

What makes one happy

Watch a friend

Their eyes lit up with a grin

Your parents face

As you walk across the platform

To get your diploma

Sensing their cheer from across the room

Even tears of joy

Smiling with adoration

A man on the streets,

Slip him a smile

It will go for miles as he feels acknowledged

A crying mother

On the day of her daughters wedding

Happy but lonely is she

A father

Walks his baby down the isle

To be with another man,

Beaming and proud,

How magic is a smile...

Oh Kathryn...I love this. So simple, yet so meaningful.
Just watch the faces of the lonely in Nursing homes...how their faces light up when you stop to touch a gnarled hand and give them a hug and a smile. They will live on that for weeks!

I doesn't cost a thing to acknowlege someone...it may be the only contact they've had that day.

When you give a smile to someone...God is smiling back at you!

Well done.

Smiles at times are wonderful signs of emotion....
but at other times....(not to be negative)....
smiles are like band-aids,
they cover up the hurt,
not fix it.

On the other hand,
great poem.

smiles are a great way to show affection, or just simple kindness. and no matter who you are, what you're doing, where you're going, and why it takes only a second to stop look and turn anothers' day.
very impressive and effortless.

A smile will always force you to smile back, it is a natural and a great feeling, nicely done Kathryn.

Nice treatment. Vignettes in snapshot phrases. A good bit of storytelling as well. Good show. Tough to do well. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers!
