It's been a year now

It's been a year now

A Poem by Keziah Roads

I am with you in the dimness of the night

You made me complete and bright

But tonight you didn’t come to be with me

Wind is whistling with the dancing trees

I was puzzled; I just want to lay eyes on you

Watching the window pane with the dew

The rain came with the lightning and the thunder

You came wet and you have these smiles I wonder

You have a box in your hands and started opening it

The phone rung and I ask you that I will get it

Tears fell down and laid eyes where you are

And cried and directly rush the car

You are lying on the wet street holding the same box I saw

Your face was with blood and wounds that I can’t draw

A man come up and said your final words “This ring, I want my lady will wear”

And that day and many days vanished and it’s been now a year

I like poems that are up for interpretation (or maybe it's just me). There are two lovers in your poem and I feel like one was about to marry the other, but got cold feet? Not sure but that's my best guess.

Great use of foreshadowing for the ultimate tragedy. Also, I like the imagery of nature i.e. "wind", "rain", "lightning", "thunder", "dancing trees". Love is truly an element of nature.
