A Cup of Coffee

A Cup of Coffee

A Poem by Someone Spare A Thought For Me

A Cup of Coffee

Damn you wretched caffeine
You make my body wanna scream
I never thought there could be
Such power in a tiny bean

I drink a small gulp
And you cringe my very soul
Swimming all over my body
Raising my blood to boil

My body shakes, my head spins
From your wrath burning within
Only to leave me tired and weak
And a headache that could last a week

Curse you wretched caffeine
You make my body wanna scream
Who would’ve thought there could be
Such power in a tiny bean?

Someone Spare A Thought For Me
I wrote this when I had a cup of coffee before an exam. I was so jittery my head wouldn't stop bobbling so I wrote this (oh and I did good on that exam by the way lol!)

Ha. I liked this. I think I'm beyond that stage now, having drunk far too much coffee... you know how they say it takes a lot of alcohol for regular drinkers to get drunk? That's me and coffee. But I love it and can't live without it. This was a short, sweet (ha), lighthearted poem that I enjoyed. Well done.

Love this! It's nice to read something that is not the usual writing topic. Coffee does the same thing to me...it's so addicting. Great poem! :)
