DeniedA Poem by Kevin Reader2.23.2007 (3) [At EAPS] Revised 2.28.2007 Denied I am not an Elf! I am a Leprechaun! How dare you, I say. How dare you! I yell. My rosy cheeks are burnt permanently on by the sun. I spent all my time chasing rainbows. I lost my pot of gold on a dream. Well, yes I do make cookies, I say in response. Well, I do have an affinity for shoes, I mumble, but I do not make them, I just wear them. Alright, I can see how you made the mistake, I rescind. I do live in a tree. We are both short. And we both wear green on a regular basis.
I stop to think. Well, can I take you out for a cold green one? I inquire. We would make beautiful little babies. I probe. NO?! What do you mean no? I yelp. Oh, you’re gay. I relinquish. I can accept that. © 2008 Kevin ReaderReviews
