Your Sexiest SelfA Poem by Kevin Reader4-13-2007 (2) Your Sexiest Self Let us break it down for a moment Expanding the synapses that fire in our minds Just for a moment, let us redefine what is sexy. Sex is how you feel about yourself Not how someone else defines you. Truth, the real you is sexy. Morning breath, and morning hair. Your most PMS, stressed out day; and that moment that you smile. When the mascara runs down your cheek after your tears of joy. Those times when you blush because you are feeling shy. Oh, your laugh. The laugh that comes from your deepest self. Those laughs you can’t control. When you laugh just because you’re happy. When you smile for no reason at all. That other smile, the one when you first see your love. One more smile: the seductive one that says “I want to make love with you until I pass out.” Reminder: your truth is sexy. You keep talking to me; even when my eyes have closed. Even when we sleep. You keep talking to me. The way our bodies touch when we sleep. The warmth that passes between us. You keep talking to me. Our songs and dance. Putting on a show for other people. Like male peacocks spreading out our fanned tails. Luring others to our beauty. The sexy lies in you. At the end of the day. The moment that you sigh, let your gut sag out, flop down on your bed. You are so tired that your eyes say. “Take off my shoes for me, and just rub my feet.” But you moan. You are comfortable. You start to fall asleep. At that same moment, your heart flutters, and the butterflies in your stomach break out from their cocoons. As I lay down beside you. You slowly turn your head, and look deeply into my eyes. You start to smile from your eyes, right before your lips break apart. It is in that moment that I find your sexiest self. Kevin M. Reader
