36 hours of friendship

36 hours of friendship

A Poem by Kevin Reader

11.25.2008 (2) [driving by des moines]

36 hours of friendship and E^2 laughter

A late night drive.
Conversation.
A loving disagreement.

I didn’t think
I would be here,
but there was no employment.

We laughed and ate
we drank too much,
in the end, stayed up too late.

So, he went home
and I stayed in
and then, He made a new friend.

Got up early,
you made breakfast
for us and your roommates.

The errands. The lights.
The show. We laughed.
We ate, stayed up too late.

I drove home,
he stayed in.
And He made another friend.
