when today becomes tomorrow

when today becomes tomorrow

A Poem by Kevin Reader

7.17.2007 (4) [611 W. Healey Apt. 9]

when today becomes tomorrow,

i will see you again

smell the sun on your skin

taste the melon on your lips,

there will be no more waiting on pigeons

to carry love between the sea of roads,

the sun will spread new light across the land

exposing the anomalies of the passed night

the rain will have soaked into the earth

replenishing and satiating its skin,

when today becomes tomorrow,

we will all be colorful again

Beautifully written piece. You have a wonderful voice.
say it aloud
just once more to yourself
and then once again
to a four cornered room
This is my favorite part. You have done a hard thing and that is to write about a sunrise without it being sentimental and cliche. A hopeful poem, well done.
