Relativity

Relativity

A Poem by Kevin Holloway

A tick and a tock,
One after another.
At the end of the hallway
Rests the big clock
Watching me.

Never been one to
Stare fate in the eyes.
Always kept my gaze fixed
To the side, skewed
And unsure.

No games?
He shakes the walls...
Don't do that
Don't make me
Face you!

Decadent years
Pretended to raise me up
But lifted me to Escher's
Abyss.
Sitting straight
On a chair, looking up
To the real, unveiled
Ground.

Where is the way out
of this house of cycles?
Or was it a one way door
To relative insanity?

Each time I reach the end of the hallway, I see the clock ticking and tocking far away from me. Those eyes can smile.
