Luck fell into his cup

Luck fell into his cup

A Poem by Kevin Holloway

Luck fell into his cup,

From which others long to sip.

Take away perceived strut

And sit down, wait, just sit.

See how he drinks her:

If he drains to the dregs

Or sips with ginger air that

Perfection which others beg.

Sit down, wait, and just sit,

With studious gaze on the scene.

Time will help you slowly glean -

Time, oh, that sly quicksand pit!

That which fell into the cup is obviously a metaphor representing something special. As with anything so regarded, it is wise to love, care for, and appreciate said good luck. As another said of this poem, it warrants more than one reading.

There's something about this one that makes me want to read it over and over... and each time I pick up something new about it.

I love the whole thing, but I love, love, love that second verse. ;]
