Bullying Crow

White beaked crow bullies
jackdaws away from hunks
of Hovis, tossed weakly
from mittened hands.
Feathered Saruman snatches
crumbling tephra, dropping
it into the pond, feeding
his rippling Narcissus.

I'm pretty lucky to live in a lovely village that is on the outskirts of a mainly grey concrete town. No exotic birds though, but I love crows

I saw a huge crow on way back from college the other day which was unusal to see here. I normally get nice birds on my feeder, robins..eating from the floor rather than the feeder, not sure of their names so i will say yellow belly tits etc finches etc but i had a fancy new feeder for xmas and now non come and eat from it :( weird...

It's unusual how different birds prefer different types of feeder. I've even put the food tits usually like into another feeder, and they'll still go to the one they are used to

It nis mad, i just hadna cheap one attached to the washing line as nowhere else to put it, had loads there, thought they would love the new one..not one has gone near it...guess i will have nto lose my line again lol
