Bittersweet Memories

Another poem written about a guy. I guess it's sort of a chronicle of our relationship.

Remember that time?
Outside your house when
You ran to my car
And hung up your phone
So we could stand outside
And talk for an hour
And I didn't want to leave you.

 

Remember that time?
You tickled my side
I tried to stop you
Then your hand found mine
And we spent the whole day
With our hands intertwined
And I didn't want to leave you.

 

Remember that time?
We walked to my car
You wouldn't let go
It was freezing outside
Just one more "I love you"
And one more kiss goodbye
And I didn't want to leave you.

 

Remember that time?
Sitting in my room
You were watching me pack
Even though we both knew
That would be the last time
We would see each other
And I didn't want to leave you.

 

Remember that time?
Three long years later
You walked into the room
And back into my life
You brought back those feelings
With a smile and a touch
And I didn't want to leave you.

 

Remember that time?
We went to the store
Holding hands as we walked
Kissing in every aisle
Was the happiest I
Had been in a long time
And I didn't want to leave you.

 

Remember that time?
Outside your aunt's house
If only we had known
That would be the last time
One more "I love you"
One more kiss goodbye
And I didn't want to leave you.

 

Remember that time?
When you disappeared
I miss you so much
It makes my heart break
I cry myself to sleep
Every night you're not here
I don't want to leave you,
But you're already gone...

Most of my poems rhyme, but I tried to do someting different with this one. Does it still flow without the rhymes?

I love it... greatly shows the ups and downs of a relationship... I like poems that don't rhyme better, it takes great skill to make them flow... you did a great job here and still express your self so deeply.
