the feathering

the feathering

A Poem by Kett

dreary, weary.. and wary...  have you become this eve..

post haste or pardoned refute
a turn of head, heard and fouled
guarded are her arms to displace an urge, teetering.

habits form and falter on a single thought
of past trails ever print-concreted as memoirs
reminders, never again..
look down and remember
and steer yourself once more rightly.

he comes again to unsettle you,
timing when he knows you have not opened your heart
to him....
6th sense a composing message, reading ....need.
i do need you, and my being will contort with its thoughts
to fight response you seek to control..
i wont.... for my wall stands
and you see it baracade us today...

The point of view in this poem is ambiguous to me. This ambiguity frustrates me, but even so, I am drawn into the indirect characterizations and imagery. Are Adam and Eve dancing immediately after the fall?

The last two lines leave open the possibility of a different tomorrow. It seems that letting go of control could manifest the difference.

I like poems like this... Poems that make you think. I had to re read ever so slowly to understand. I love dense language like this though!!! ;) and the best part is that I can relate to most of this.
"guarded are her arms to displace an urge, teetering"
This line was very helpful, and detremental to figuring out the meaning.
Wonderful job my friend :)
