Asking flowersA Poem by KethsSpent an entire evening imagining all the little things that these flowers might tell me if they could talk.
Asking flowers
I wonder if flowers have conversations too? Do they think and feel and live like we do? And if they do, i wonder what they say, What songs they sing and what prayers they pray. I wonder if young daisies envy lush roses, Or if sunflowers wake up early as soon as the sun rises. Wild lavenders must know how lovely they smell And i'm sure pansies will always have many stories to tell. Sweet Cornflowers will give you the best compliments there are And jasmines will tell you the name of each star. Do mighty dahlias really love the sun and rain? And Are the shamrocks in Ireland, dreaming about vacations in Spain? It's certain that fun daffodils can dance and play But poor orchids will be tired counting their cousins all day. Are the rhododendrons rooted up in mountains steep, Singing lullabies for wildflowers as they rest and sleep? I really do wish flowers could have conversations too. That they could think, and feel and live like we do. Because if they did they'd have so much to say, Glorious songs to sing and beautiful prayers to pray. © 2017 KethsAuthor's Note
