The Quiet Poet

The Quiet Poet

A Chapter by Kerry Cochran

The Quiet Poet

The quiet poet sits with their eyes closed meditating,
and focusing on the silent rhymes
that floats through the clouds in the sky.
The moon and stars that glitter in the night
form their own symbolism and haiku's
that celebrate beautiful music
in the night air.
The quiet poet uses this to enhance
a sense of being and understanding that only another
poet can relate too.
The wind blows and the lightning crackles;
in a celebration of growth
as does the quiet poet in our own worlds.
Shhhhhhhh!!!!
Can you hear
the beautiful poetry of nature?
You should like a quiet poet
knows you could.

I like the meditative mood you capture - the poem blooming in the stillness as if calm were the light it needs to open and unfurl, cast its scent into the wind and announce its presence. The poem is there, but too subtle to compete with chaos. I enjoyed this very much.

Kerry,

The Quiet Poet hit the spot. I see things in that light; especially when it comes to nature. Using various symbols like Christmas or Merry Christmas. To me it reads Mary, Christ Must Be Born on this day. Mary Christ Must. Have a blessed holiday.

Beautifully written, I like the way you take the reader through one of the creative processes of a poet.
One thing though, the sentence "You should like a quiet poet knows you could." I did not understand the meaning behind this one, could you please clarify for me?
