You Don't Know MeA Chapter by Kerry Cochran
YOU DON’T KNOW ME
You don’t know me, but you think you do.
I’m a strong black woman with my own sense of style.
I’ve crossed obstacles that some people wish they could.
I’m not here to intimidate, manipulate, or be vindictive.
But I am my own woman.
I understand my life experiences are merely lessons on the road to life.
I have self-knowledge and unconditional love, but you got to understand,
You don’t know me, but you think you do.
I define myself like no one else can, I am God’s child and I am on his playground.
Don’t get me wrong, I am full of spirit, joy and surprises.
You think you know me, but you don’t...
I give respect; therefore I expect the same in return,
My place here is not set yet, but my calling is to prepare,
You for something real; you see life is not a playground anymore; we are the ones that are strong, secure, intelligent and independent. Us Strong, Black, Women.
You don’t know me, but you think you do.
To know me is to love me in all my glory,
Through good times and bad; trials and tribulations.
To know me is to introduce your self to me and conversate with me in a respectful way.
To know me is to also know God and the blessings that are bestowed upon everyone of us.
To know me you will not take my kindness for weakness.
To know me is to love me.
YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME, BUT YOU DON’T
