Perfectly Simple

Perfectly Simple

A Poem by KerriFaye

The daylight breaks, it’s oh so beautiful.

Just like the colors of your soul.

Inside I’m fragile, a tangled mess coming unglued,

But with you, my shattered world disappears.

You take me by the heart,

Tell me it’s okay.

Be my ever after,

Please tell me that you’ll stay.

I can’t explain this feeling,

I just know that it’s you.

You make me feel alive again,

My wildest dream coming true.

You’re perfectly simple and simply perfect.

The sun sets, it steals my breath,

Just like the light in your eyes.

Sometimes I feel unworthy, undeserving, unloved.

But you take that all away.

When you look me in the eyes,

And confess your adoration,

It’s then I know that it’s you.

You are my future,

My pride, my fairytale prince.

You are my home,

My saving grace, my safe and sound.

You’re perfectly simple and simply perfect.

This is a very lovely poem. It seems like your showing the perfect fairytale side of love. The side of love that we see in movies and hope to have ourselves. It's a very good poem!

Life can be simply yet your words are more than from what I read you've found a true love.
Nice work.

I can't help but think of unrequited love when I mumble this aloud. Despite the wonderland aspects you present, and the sweet perfection so many of us wish to have, I just can't help but imagine the darker side; that this is a wonderland, and only so.
