A W***eA Poem by Kerberos
To shout, to scream, to tear clothing
Such is the duty of the writer The shouts and screams are muffled by patronizing pillows The torn clothing quickly dismissed and trampled And the smoke is lost in the cruel wind deluded and invisible Such is the bane of the writer To scream until vocal chords callous or snap To drink gasoline and drop a match into his belly To wave a tattered white flag between tireless armies Such is the bane of the writer To s**t in the New York sewers To get one swing at an oiled Ali To blow a whistle in a haunted trainyard Such is the bane of the writer Floating for dear life Groping at the clouds, with a lead a*s Then finally To sell himself for a penny To sell his Dorian To sell his soul For a f*****g penny
