How Sweet it is to Feel

How Sweet it is to Feel

A Poem by Kerberos

How sweet it is to feel

The tobacco burning my lungs

The crisp air tightening the skin around my bones

The hard concrete under my curled toes

The sky crushing me on all sides

The stars singe my hair

The sun at my feet

I spin in my glass bulb around

And around

But oh how sweet it is to feel

I can read this landscape

I am a part of it

It pulls me in close

Polaris in front solaris in back

My world directs me

I am a part of it

How sweet it is to feel

A well-written imagery-rich celebration of the joy of being alive.
Loved the Solaris/ Polaris part especially.

I'm sorry forgive my misguided thoughts
I never smoked. I noticed how chilled my work colleagues return to work after a smoke break and I often felt I should have liked to experience that calmness but thats quite a price to pay.
I saw the sky crushing as the slowly closing branches of the lungs as tar envelopes them and breathing becomes more difficult. Great descriptive write Kerberos.

Some things I didn't think about, like the smoking. When your lungs are filled with smoke. The sky has different sides. I didn't think of the sky as something that could crush me.

Ahhhh I love this. Smoking is one of my favorite experiences. Nice job, you captured this quite well.

Wonderful imagery and use of diction. The line I enjoyed in particular was, "Polaris in front of solaris in back." Good work.
