Starburst

Starburst

A Poem by kera moondust

I’ve never been much of a fan of candy

the sweet and sticky in my mouth

the rich sugars

It was never my thing

Until you came along

Like a star above my head

and I suddenly remembered

How much I loved the taste of starburst

the fruit flavors rich and juicy in my mouth

You’re not really a candy

but a man I fell in love with

Somewhere in my head

in a fantasy we both remember

under a pale washed moonlight

under luminescent starlight

Passing over a fruit colored sky

Bursting with your heart

and dancing in mine

Euphoric and captured

we were in love

on an ocean of melodies

singing songs of

long distance love

you’re not so far away

but I’m not with you

you’d think I was talking about him

but I’m thinking someone old

having been renewed

Trust me my love

and then we will see

Jupiter will shine bright

for us tonight

and 1000 miles will close

Over brice canyon Utah

and shine over the western sky’s ocean

in San Francisco for us

Together
