Closet Full of Puppets

Closet Full of Puppets

A Poem by kera moondust

Hearts bleed

slimy poisons

coming from your mouth.

I’m a shadow

you called my name

once upon a time

I’ve left it now

Like a string pulled from my wrists

puppets…

mouth is wooden

spitting splinters to your face.

My spit gathers

it drips.

A red haunting your heart

You’ve tried

erase me

You can’t

erase me

A shadow

A ghost

A puppet

forgotten

I gave you life

you gave me nothing.

Sucked away my soul

until my puppets glassy eyes

bled into your cold heart

stained

Tears.

I’ve never cried

with a thread and needle

stitching my strings

forgotten

misshapen

neglected

Puppets

I watch

you’d cringe

fear eating your leathery cold heart

where I will call your name

in a quiet mocking of your heart

quivering in the shadows only pain

dripping crimson with your greedy rubies

and her melted wax

A doll on your hands

puppets

You have only

puppets

forgotten

collected

In the shadows of your mind

I will not

forgive…
