Winter is Always Cold

Winter is Always Cold

A Poem by kera moondust
"

yeah =) because I moved to this city under false pretenses.

"

It doesn’t Snow here

Or at least that’s what I am told

They say it rains

The whole month of

                                December

I asked them if it doesn’t snow

Is it cold?

I was told at that time

Winter

                Is

                    Always

Cold

But it doesn’t snow

I haven’t seen my breath

And my blue eyes have no sky

To match tempo with

I came here under false pretenses

I was told this city is covered in low hanging

                Clouds

They settle over my street

And all its accompanying avenues

However all I feel for this

                November

Is warmth

The sun on my skin

Caressing my hands

Melting into my hair

                The same muted colors

           Gold

However

Those low hanging clouds

Don’t come every day

The weather of this never sleeping

                November

Is all too warm

I’m still waiting for winter to be

                                Cold

This time of the year is still falling

Despite the lack of ice

My winter time

                Will always

                                Always

                Be cold

Once more, your imagery is amazing. Currently, I wish that it never snowed where I'm at. Southern living spoiled me and now that I'm stuck up north in this country, I'm really not liking the snow. But that's beside the point lol

I rather liked the part about saying your blue eyes don't have a sky to match tempo with. That was a really well worded piece and it flowed quite magnificently.

oh how neat
I love this poem. I lived in Vancouver for years. It reminds me of my disillusionment at living somewhere I wanted to live, and then found out I didn't really like. Wonderful
