What This Summer Gave MeA Poem by kera moondustSummers over and I'm in San Francisco have a poem about it =)I’m on the
fourth floor With a
balcony of some off helter apartment complex Below me I can’t see
the sky Or try to
make pictures out of clouds Separating smoke from the skies
of my Reno There is a
window in my Reno Where I can
sit on my second story roof And try to
figure out what Rain feels like When it
patters hard against it And it is there I spent some
time Trying desperately
to forget Autumn is on its Way You see my
summer is over Or it almost may seem that way And it seems
the only things I’m leaving it with Are feet blackened by pavement
and summer heat And a never
changing Heart
break From some
seaside lover who will never know (or perhaps
always know) How much
looking at the ocean Reminds me of his eyes And even if
I can’t spend Hours Sitting on
my roof Of that
little gypsy castle house This dirty
city has been calling my name for Years And Mr.
Seaside eyes and I will move on He will meet some pretty girl (In his
freshmen English class) Almost
forgetting that The sea and
the sky Even touched Let alone
shared a Kiss in The rain Or even more So I
answered this city’s Call With a heavy
heart Burning eyes And blackened
pavement Feet. © 2013 kera moondustAuthor's Note
