The Truth About Soul MatesA Poem by kera moondustbecause I felt like writing a poem for her. =)I’ve got band
aids on my heels Because I
find that I’ve walked This road of
life Until my
feet are bleeding Let me tell
you something about Soul mates They don’t
always have the eyes you imagined In your
sleep Knee deep in
pools of heavens And the
color of a shattered moon In reality
their eyes are so much more real And they don’t
always know the curves Of your ethereal
midnight You’ve never
be able to grasp And they won’t
always be someone you’ve known forever No. Sometimes soul
mates are found In the particles
of dirt you left on muddy shoes On the banks
of a lake That drenched
your naked body In a black
sheet with small cut outs Where stars
should be And I know
from experience Sometimes soul
mates are The alliteration
of names following you Down this ever confusing road of
life We all find
ourselves wandering And sometimes
they don’t fall in love At least not
the way you’d expect Sometimes they
don’t Make out
under moonlight Or kiss
under rain storms No Sometimes they
fall in love In the way
that has them running to your doorstep When you
find yourself in tears Or lying
next to each other Deep in
cosmic thought Minds suspended
in some other Galaxy I know I
didn’t find my soul mate in the traditional Platform She’s got
these eyes made of earth They keep
this sky girl Grounded And honeybees
in her ears That I like
to sing along with And let’s
not forget the ink Splattered
on her fingers That begs me
to turn our existence Into a
fabled story about sea monsters And sirens On Canvas © 2013 kera moondustAuthor's Note
