Drugs, Sweat, and Acid Rain

Drugs, Sweat, and Acid Rain

A Poem by kera moondust
"

something a little urban that I'm not sure what spawned.

"

I wanna be dropped on my face

In the middle of a new dirty city

So I can watch new grimy people

With all their broken bones

Sticking out

And visible souls strung out on life

And all the drugs that accompany

                it

I wanna be passed around like a pile of pills

So I can stand baring witness to all those grimy peoples dirty inside

Scars

Molded over, rotting, and infected

Though perfectly picture perfect on the outside

Only visible through the split ends of worn out

                hair

I wanna be sweated out

Of a body that’s feverishly shaking from withdraw

As the junkie’s bite their finger nails until they bleed

With eyes so hollow and dilated you’d think it was midnight at

                noon

I wanna be thrown in the sewers

So I can see all the other things so much dirtier

Then a doll all painted up selling sex on the street sides

All worn up and down to the point of hollow eyes and yellowing

                hands

I wanna be outcaste

So I can climb the tallest of City Mountains

Overlooking the smog and cancer laced smoke

That settles over the lives of those poor unfortunate

                Souls

And if that’s not enough

I wanna evaporate

And mingle with that dirty city air

So I can see all those tired faces

From a million different microscopic angles

While my body is spread as the water vapor that

Collects into rain and showers

Acid onto the streets

Lastly when the skies are clear

And you can just make out those last tiny stars

That are just barely bright enough to over take

 This muted city skyline

I wanna dry up on the streets

Where my every pore can intake

All the grease and grime on these sidewalks

Until I’m the only thing that’s left dirty in this

Whole entire

                city

This poem has a wide variety of interesting aspects to it. For one, it really makes me think of empathy. It makes me think of deep understanding, social forces, activism, apathy. This whole poem is like a trip, a vivid experience of the city in a crazy phenomenological osmosis. I really, really dig this. What were your intentions in leaving a one word indented line at the end of each stanza, I wonder? Anyway, thanks, this is spectacular.

LOVE.
This is like exactly what I go looking for when I read poetry. It has that dark edge that I crave to read and see from time to time.

No matter where you go, mostly everything is the same. Sometimes there is an adventure to be had, but mostly this reminds me of druggy friends who try to escape to a new city... always going somewhere else to live the same exact life.

But it also reminds me of myself. That I always want to be on the outskirts of it. I always want to wittness it. life isn't real if it isn't a bit dirty. And people. People are so fascinating to observe and I want to always observe them.

The renewal at the end was a surprise. I nice one though!
I deff enjoyed reading this work! Wonderful job!
