Lucky Souls

Lucky Souls

A Poem by kera moondust
"

The poem for my second grandma, the one still living.

"

You’d run your fingers threw my wheat colored bangs

Your nails gently scratching over my forehead

Decorated in a pleasant pale red

And a soft murmured laugh

Your honeyed I love you’s still hang on my

Finger tips

And my blue eyes looked up at you

Like you put the stars in my sky’s

It’s been a rough year

For you that is something I know

I guess for me a little bit too

With the passing of people dear

But believe me when I say

Heaven will be lucky for a cranky old man like

Him

And you’re time isn’t yet over

You’re still needed here on earth

Because someday, hopefully

You’ll be here to

Watch me walk down that isle

I love rolling around on your living room floor

With your puppy’s and kitty’s

Too bad I’m getting older

And so are you and everyone else

I don’t love you any less

Your food is some of the best I’ve ever tasted

And I’m not just saying that because

           You’re my grandma.
