Begging For Your Thanks

Begging For Your Thanks

A Poem by kera moondust
"

A slightly delayed thanks giving poem. Because, well why not?

"

Running fingers through greasy hair

Angels kissed my lovers cheeks

Cornucopia heart filled to the brim with

                Your                       warm apple cider

Old bones like leaves crunched on the sidewalk

And kitchens all too warm

Don’t forget the flavor of my taste buds

In your mouth

I was asked to give thanks

For your concrete rib cage

And star shine brown eyes

Her molten fire hair

And those strong hands made weak on cold nights

You’ve got my hummingbird heart

Flesh and bones

                                Don’t forget my pulse

And your skeleton keys

Unlocking my body

I’ll give thanks

I’ve never loved so deeply

Lived so fully

Or felt hands on my body so lovingly

As I do now

I’ve never felt so important

As his eyes mimic mine

Her tiny body and begging brow eyes

as tiny babies breathe, children, family

Soul mates, lovers, friends

I know

I’m nothing without my hands but

Let me know

Am I something you’re thankful for too?
