Soul Mates Part II

Soul Mates Part II

A Poem by kera moondust
"

she could just be my everything, and I just haven't realized it yet. =) I love her she's my soul mate, but I still couldn't think of a better title... geez.

"

The Greek have a myth

Though maybe it’s been a little lost over time

I’m not really one to tell you this

(You know so much more about the Greeks then I do)

It goes a little something like this

Or at least it’s what I’ve read

Mankind used to have 4 arms, 4 legs, and 2 hearts and 2 heads

We got split

I don’t know the whole story

But we were damned to search for eternity looking for

Our other half

I think I found mine

You’re probably expecting a love poem right about now

Well I’ve written a hundred of those

This isn’t one

I’ve found my soul mate

In a girl with a small frame

A humming bird trapped in her ribcage

And small beat up and detailed hands that rap around my spine

Her eyes are the earth to my sky

I could live in her chestnut brown eyes

I could teach her to fly in the baby blue colors of mine

She’s the saline solution in my contacts

The thick glass in front of my eyes

(bending the world back into perspective for me)

She’s the dreams the sandman uses to lull me to sleep

(on nights when 3am is a little too harsh)

------

You’re my everything without a hesitation,

the pieces of my soul I tried to hide. I would give you

a blanket to wish away cold weather. A handkerchief to

dry tears on days when reality hits a little too hard.

After all I love you. I love you like birds love riding on

thermal winds in the summer. I love you for picking

my dirt filled toes off the muddy ground and throwing

Them into the water, with heart beats that drummed

along a moonless milky way night.

You’re the pen that guides my hands, on nights

when I’m frustrated and you’re flying. You

are hope, on nights when heart break enters my throat

at such an alarming rate.

You Are My Melody

---

I could be an angel

But only if you’re god

Like cut out robin’s egg construction paper

On a day that the afternoon sun once scorched

My pale white skin

Mocked by your tan and caressed by

your eyelashes on my checks

You’re the voice that harmonizes mine

The scent of car oil in my nose

The glue between my finger tips

You’ve got honeybees in your ears

Spewing out your mouth

You’re a girl

Not a lover

Or a liker

Or even a crush

But even so

You’re my girl

Or maybe you’re me

The two fish on my ceiling begged for you

And your eskimo kisses

Soul mate

(there is no such thing as)

So Long
