Finding What You AreA Poem by kera moondustI know there are some things I'd never be able to do. One of those things is look you in the eyes and call you what you are. A Soldier.I never call
you what you are Atten-TION! Give me 20 Get down on
your knees and beg for me I’ve never
called you what you are Soldier,
combatant, private, warrior Fighting in
a one manned army So let me
brand you with dog tags Strip you of
all that makes you human You’ll die for
me after all Though your
mother will beg Hands clutching
on those Mormon prayer beads That you
will arrive safely Tucked into
the haven of her small fragile breast Without a
scratch or scar across your heart I wouldn’t
call you what you are Don’t look
me in the eye Give me that
perfect salute Hands straight Back straight
Feet flat on
the floor Black
leather boots Buzz cut Hair will
only make you dirtier So you
looked in my eyes with a rock hard glance Don’t even
maggot I can spit
on you You’ll do
nothing Army Man Your life is
mine I can’t call
you what you are A hero Someone
somewhere A long lost
love story Come home
safely she’d beg you I will never
call you what you are Fighting for
me For you For nothing
at all Don’t
blankly stare at me private Pick up your
pace Before I
make you wish you did Move Move Move Drop down Faster Army Man I
can call you what you are Don’t even
pretend you didn’t wish you were In her arms Rather than
in the army Safe Warm Tucked against
her soft lips Nestled in-between
her thighs Especially
on rainy days like this © 2012 kera moondustAuthor's Note
