Passion and City LightsA Poem by kera moondustInspired by something a friend said, and also tried out something a little Ellen hopkins esk. =) I like it.I’m on a one
way street Walking down
alleyways at night In the
middle of a City Surrounded by
smelted chrome and dirty heat Eating carcinogens
as the days wash past Like faded
water color lines Blurry I’m melting With my eyes
turned to the blotted stars Poisoned by
the insidious city lights And the
smoke that reverberated off the pavement He held open
a door Hands On my heart He has
whisked me away in the impossibility Of Cloud 9 Asking me Have You looked
at me the way heaven looks at an angel? Have you
taught me all you can teach? Have you
showed me all the nooks and crannies of your mind? Do you Love
Me? Or is it
just something Promised Did you
remember to give me wings when you tried to give me Chivalry. Tried so
hard To tell Me If it was
that easy It wouldn’t
make a good love story. Now would
it? You know the
truth That in
order To Prove that
love is worth it You have to
lay your jacket across mud puddles Cross 600
miles of mountains And fly the
ocean Just for me And You So many people call me Home. But you're the only one that matters © 2012 kera moondustAuthor's Note
