Two Pairs of Muddy ShoesA Poem by kera moondustinspired by a fabulous weekend camping. =)The stars
blurred together Drenching our
bodies with colorless holes Of a sheet
sky Mud mashed
between our toes And the
lakes tentacles reach and stretch catching the tips of our existence Eyes drenched
in natures colors Darkened by
a rain storm Caressed by
the moonless night Embedded deep
in the lakes murky depths Body parts
mingling untouched Lips that
beg on one another Darting away
before tragedies mingle in the depth of innocent minds Under a
cloudless night Tip toe
under trees Sun scorched
skin Pricked with
the scents of clean forest air Engulfed in
mud Cleansing my
soul Purging my
melodies into some off tune lie Harmonizing with
the melancholy of quiet green eyes Grassy beaches
To skyline
eyes UNLIKE Muddy shoreline
caressed chestnut pine eyes Of hers Echoes of
ghostly laughter Reverberate through
the valley Drenched in
the starlight of meteor showers Under a tent Under a
blanket Inside
hearts Blended with
unknown monsters Creeping out
of the lake And the
screaming scent of smoke burning at your eyes Hands caress
faces Of strangers
encased in past And hearts
soaked with youth Entrenched in
the shadows of an ever fading childhood Scarred by
the ache of muscles holding hands to the stars Begging for
a fairytale ending Mesmerized in
the lullaby of misguided souls Trapped at
the bottom of the cool lake waters Mystified and
tantalized by screaming colorless eyes Shattering souls
of nine year olds Tasting sweets Marshmallow hearts
Splattering the
canvas of white paper story’s Carved into
the branches of the ever watching trees Leaving behind
only Two pairs of
muddy shoes © 2012 kera moondustAuthor's Note
