My Reality

My Reality

A Poem by Kenyah Kassandra
"

I wrote this to explain how I see the world

"

What you see as plain darkness I see as living shadows out to destroy all that is good.

When I speak you call me a scatter brained crazy.

What you see as an empty room I see as a prison of shadows.

When you see just an empty corner, I see them.

I see the creatures of death.

Out to destroy all living things.

When I speak of what I see you call it imagination.

But tell me how is it that my imagination can make me go through this.

How is it that my imagination can touch me.

How is it my imagination, when I can’t make it stop.

You hear silence. I hear screams of horror.

You tell me to calm down.

But tell me, would you calm down if you heard screams,

Day and night?

Sleep or awake?

Would you stay calm when you hear voices every day,

Trying to get you to jump off of a bridge.

You see a person, I see a monster.

You see a simple forest,

I see living trees, and shadows.

You see a simple world of real and not,

I however cannot tell the difference.
