Only Reason

Only Reason

A Poem by Kenya Caddence

Sacred and mighty

Looked down on this wretched soul

Saved me from myself.

Every description indicates the salvation received from God or some form of higher being. The poem is elegent and simplistic with a strong message. Primiraily, the meaning is expressed with clarity, but it also is vague enough for the viewer to interpret the reasoning behind why you needed to be saved. Questions that arise include: Does the narrator need to be saved from themself because of suicidal inclinations? Does the person need to be saved because they lost their faith? These are among the many alternatives that could be the cause and effect.

A cry for help perhaps? Sounds like it. Anguish and yearning cry for help.
