Oh Captain, My Captain

Oh Captain, My Captain

A Story by Kenneth Nicholas Lowe

Oh captain, my captain
Where have thou been
For we have lived so much
In a world with grievous sin
Oh captain, my captain
What troubles we've Bourne
Will the fruit of our toils
Breed better seeds than we've sown

Oh captain, my captain
Our sorrows go untold
For the sweat that we've laid
And blood that we bore
Oh captain, my captain
What path have we laid
A future for our betters
Or an example for the slain

Oh captain, my captain
What course have you found
Have you soar'n us to the sky
Or laid is to the ground
Oh captain, my captain
Take us and command
From the world that we know
To providence we demand
