When I Go

When I Go

A Poem by Kenneth Nicholas Lowe

If we get to 29 and you are not my wife
I could get down on one knee
And ask you really nice

If we get to 30 and you are not my spouse
I'd put on my best wedding suit
And come down to your house

If we're both not married by 31
I would no longer need
Permission from your mum

If we're both not married by 32
I would rent out a pumpkin carriage
And craft a glassy shoe

If we're both not married by 33
I think now it's your turn
To get down and propose to me

If we're both not married by 34
Let's start having the kids
Cause it doesn't matter anymore
