Here I LieA Poem by Kenneth Nicholas LoweHere I lie Mind, body and soul In un-comforting dreams But none will know As well as I My horrors and my screams None will be acquainted as I The man of golden dreams To heal a world as broke as I Towards a light that's lost its gleam The light has faded to a glimmer A glimmer, I now, struggle to find I think the fools are better set To live in this world as lies A fool, I wish I was at times My mind is but, a pest I'd drag myself to the steep where I Could leap my body and soul to rest To rest my body in a quiet stream My mind, shall find too shallow For all my hopes and all my dreams In the abyss, My soul shall find to narrow To rest my mind inside a box I fear, my soul won't fly To lay it down, below the docks My body will return on tide To set my soul on fire, I'd hate To leave my body disfashioned To hang it to a ceiling's fate Is to tie my mind without love's passion So, Here I lie And patiently await In un-comforting dreams In daily wages of a life For nature to succumb my screams © 2015 Kenneth Nicholas Lowe |
