Rebel without a Cause

Rebel without a Cause

A Poem by Kenneth Nicholas Lowe
"

A tribute to Jim Stark

"

In a world of frustration, brews an aroma of contempt

Is this the post adolescence craved by adolescents

Perpetual annoyance for all that is wrong

Only comforted through the agony of song

Beliefs so contrary, believed by the crowds

So willing to follow those claiming aloud

What hope do they find in those pitiful lies?

Blind to a verity, that calls, that cries

Protective are they, embracing till death

Yet a death endured of false honour

Enforcing their kins and lover and pets

Come forth, Oh Lord!!! Save us from sinners

Observing the pathetic in their pathetic ways

Auctioning their lives as voluntary slaves

Honourable are few, defamed or deserted

Have will comrade, be thou asserted

What satisfaction can come from their lies

Repeat, repeat as the truth slowly dies

Whilst the Lions of Honour, take shelter in their ideals

The masses of sheep are put the steel

I see them raised on a pedestal of delusion

Accompanied by fools and masters of collusion

Were they born without sight or selectively see

Subjection to follow free thinkers and fleas

History foretells of all whom must fall

Resistance is not futile be a giant or be small

For morals are martyrs, for suffrage are slaves

That fight, that write from cradle to grave

now this is what I call writing!.. I love your use of language in this!.. the phrasing is so captivating and stimulating. Your word play is lovely...I got lost in the exquisite flow and had to re-read again.. is the rebel really without a cause?.. I loved the ending.. there were a few places I stumbled just a little, but overall, VERY nicely done.. I am adding this to my favorites, so that I may come back and enjoy again..

It's good, but not excellent.

But do not take my very personal and subjective opinion as absolute truth.

Write on dear friend, and may you make your works yours.

You are welcome...:)........
Collusion has swaggered across my path three times in two days. The depth of "collusion" is definitely expressed quite well in this poem. The sheep and the wolves are chained but do they know? Another word which has been on my brain like a steak to a blackened eye is "rage". The last line speaks of rage to me. I love this poem. Bravo!

This a wonderfully crafted piece of poetry. I loved the rhythm and the rhyme, it all went hand in hand. The message delivered was also something presented in the most uncommon of ways :)

Oh, is it subjection or subjected? I don't know. Thanks.

It is subjection :)
This is one of the most honest and intriguing poems I've ever read. It is all so true. Don't get so excited, I'm new. But there's no doubt any reviewer that doesn't agree, if following society's rules for poetry. Thank you.
