Ripping the Stitches

Ripping the Stitches

A Poem by kenny

I need you, but you're not there.
I cry out to you, but you don't care.
your life is happy, so why should you?
after all, I'm just passing through.
I wanted to make a difference,
I wanted to be a part of you in every sense.
above all, I wanted you to love me like I love you,
I wanted our love to sing true.
There was a time you wanted my affections,
and now all I feel is defection.
The saying "Broken Heart" is so oft used, we forget the meaning,
but mine is so mangled I struggle just to keep it beating.
Torn apart by the elements of the outside world,
because I stood holding it out hoping for but one girl.
For four years I patiently waited,
while watching in pain, those that she dated.
but in the name of all that I am,
my heart has taken all it can stand.
It crumbles in my outstretched arms and from them it pours,
weeping its contents onto the floor.
I hope you understand, I have to put it back in.
though I fear the damage taken here, will be the end.

Taylor, you make me happier than words could ever explain,
but that's a big part of why you cause me so much pain.
