Distant

I can't explain to you how far away you seem,
the beauty of your eyes a distant gleam.
and I can't help myself at times.
And I can't explain it in rhymes.
As the world around me moves ever faster,
I am left alone, an image wrought in plaster.
I watch with fixed eyes,
as the world forgets their goodbyes.
And no sooner am I a memory,
than they forget me.
I try to see past you and I,
but that whole deal, just ain't gunna fly.
