Tokens of Pain

Tokens of Pain

A Poem by kenny

Five Gifts I have been given,
by the fair creatures that are women.
A skull broken from within,
unable to withstand the roaring din.
Flesh as rough as sand,
the peeling of the layers, more than I can stand.
Eyes torn out in insanity,
for I could not trust what they see.
Maggots that fill my cheek,
silencing the voice I speak.
and the heart of bone,
a closer friend I've never known.
For the bones that bend with an audible crack,
can never be mended back.
And this weary bled dry soul,
knows it shall never reach another goal.
These are my tokens of pain,
and with me they shall always remain.
