No Pride Left to Pray

No Pride Left to Pray

A Poem by kenny

Alone I sit now.
Wondering the simple, "how."
Unfeeling in it's entirety,
is the only emotion left to me.
No hate, nor rage,
No strength left to rattle the cage.
Pride is a strange word suddenly,
for it left me oh so certainly.
No care to even cry out any more,
no light cracks through the door.
Darkness and alone to accompany me,
I don't even wish to be free.
Defeated, with tears running down my face,
at long last I give up the chase.
Wounded and crippled from the start,
it was too much pain on my heart.
Limping I tried oh so hard,
But fate dealt a dark card.
Too tired of feeling pain,
here, I hope I remain.
For in my cage all alone,
my heart finally has a place to call home,
Even here, is better than nowhere.
